Inside Napoleon Hill’s unpublished manuscript,' Wheel of Fortune', he shares a list.
But not just any list.
This is Andrew Carnegie's list of the major causes of failure. Yes, THAT Andrew Carnegie — the richest man in the world at the time.
He shared this list with Napoleon Hill during their famous interview, and it became a cornerstone of Hill's work on success.
Here are the big ones on his list:
- The habit of drifting without aim, plan, or purpose. (Are you drifting or driving towards your goals?)
- Lack of self-discipline in eating, drinking, and other physical habits. (Small daily choices add up to big results - good or bad.)
- Lack of ambition to aim above mediocrity. (Are you settling for “good enough”?)
- Lack of persistence in carrying through on what one begins. (How many unfinished projects do you have?)
- Negative personality and offensive habits. (Are you the person others want to be around and work with?)
- Lack of definite purpose as a life goal. (Do you know EXACTLY what you want?)
- Lack of decision, procrastination. (Are you quick to decide and act, or do you wait for the “perfect moment”?)
-
The habit of blaming others for one's mistakes and accepting unfavorable circumstances as being unavoidable. (Are you taking full responsibility for your life and business?)
I have a challenge for you:
Look at this list and identify your top 1-2 “failure factors”.
Write down ONE specific action you can take this week to address each of them.
From my heart to yours
David.
